For the single release of เด็กอ้วน (Fat Boy) by YENTED, I was responsible for the art direction and single cover design. The track tells a sweet and relatable story of a schoolboy secretly in love with an older female student. The lyrics describe his hesitation to confess his feelings, alongside charming details like her teasing him about his weight, showing how even the smallest interactions and memories mean the world to him.
To translate this innocent schoolyard romance into a visual format, I conceptualized a tactile still life arrangement. I designed the cover around a traditional Thai male student uniform shirt, specially embroidered with the band's initials on the chest. To represent his secret crush, I incorporated a handmade red felt heart keychain framing a photograph of the senior girl, surrounded by tiny, colorful sticker decorations. This physical approach captures the youthful dedication of a boy customizing his belongings to hold his feelings close to his heart.
This creative direction provided YENTED with a highly nostalgic and endearing visual identity for the track. The final artwork perfectly mirrors the heartfelt lyrics, giving the audience a tangible snapshot of young love.
